This 9 1/2" rattle is a sturdy one piece gourd with a slightly curved handle which is very comfortable. The 4" bulb provides medium sound good for many singing groups. The beautiful rythmic design originates in the Northeast Woodland People, possibly originating among the Pennobscot and later adapted by other tribes of the area. This item is currently available at the Institute for Native American Studies, Gift Shop at Curtis Road, Washington, CT. Price may differ.
