Is Dale Carson by any chance the same Dale Carson my mother-in-law's sister Shirley Hoe met years ago in Connecticut? Their family has Abenaki descent, albeit from way back, a village called Norrdigewock, ME. We have a little daughter now and would like to find out more about the Abenakis. Thanks!

Angela: I just saw the blog and I loved looking at your work space because I think you are very creative in using the small area you have available. I also think that it's very interesting to see how you work, so if you would like to add more pictures to it, I would love to look at them! I believe that art comes from the soul of a person...it's just on you...and I would love to be a part of it by seeing how you work and how you get your inspiration. I never thought it would be easy to do what you do and I am sure that making those gourds take a lot of patience and hard work. It is really neat to see the latest things you put in your blog! Thanks for doing that: it was a great idea!

Angela : I had only few days time before my Italian friend was going back home and I wanted to get her something really special, so I ordered a very pretty blue bracelet and I didn't think it was going to arrive before her leaving...but it did! Morningstar made sure that it got to me just in time so I was able to surprise my friend with a very special and original gift! Thanks you Morningstar!

Dear Morningstar, Thank you for the beautiful rattle. I love the warm earth tones and designs (whose meanings I especially connect with), the very nice sound, and the comfortable way it fits in my hand. It is, as you said in your listing, a perfect rattle for a woman's hand (even with my somewhat big hands). Thank you, too, for shipping it so quickly and packing it with such care. I have been buying the beautiful things you've made for two years, and the experience has always been a very good one. Thank you! Julie

morningstarstudio: Julie: Thank you again for the beautiful beaded leather bag. It is a work of art, as is everything you design and make. I so much appreciate the way you worked with me, putting into form the ideas I had. What you created was even more beautiful and personally meaningful to me than what I was hoping for, because of that special ability you have to listen on the inner as well as the outer level. Thank you!...Julie

12:03 AM on May 7, 2007

Morningstar: I am so happy with your hanging gourd with the dream catcher built into it, and I love the fact that it was made from a gourd that you grew, and that the duck feather is from one of your ducks -- a duck you know! The gourd is a very pleasing round shape, and the dreamcatcher, with a pleasingly fat Grandmother Spider (the beautiful turquoise stone) near the center of her web, is beautiful. The strong, even lacework of the dream catcher looks beautiful against the black interior of the gourd. I like the leatherwork, too (that leather has such a beautiful, soft feel, and it's a nice soft, warm colour) -- I love everything about this gourd. I was immediately attracted to the intuitive symbolism of a dreamcatcher within a gourd. Looking closely at the natural patterns of the gourd around the dreamcatcher hole, I can see how the gourd itself sort of suggested that you do this. The warm colours and earthy materials of this round mother-gourd are somehow comforting. Thank you! And thank you also to the animals and plants that contributed to it. Julie

Again, I want to thank you. The painted gourd is even more beautiful than I hoped it would be, and so evocative of sacred mountains and mountain canyons. The painting on the gourd follows the natural curves and colorings of the gourd in a way that enhances its own natural beauty rather than competing with it. It is a true work of art, and I really love it. The black stand is perfect for it: simple, graceful and elemental. Your gourd work is worthy of being in a museum. In a completely different medium and style, your set of cards containing miniatures of your pen and ink drawings are beautiful and powerful with their delicacy of detail, boldness of design, and depth of meaning. Even the items not made by you, listed under the "commercial" heading on our website, the little jade butterfly and dragonfly necklaces, are well selected, very lovely and tasteful, and beautifully made. Thank you for sharing your great gifts of spirit and beauty with us.

Morningstar is a true artist! Not only are the things she designs and makes full of beauty and meaning, even her website pages are beautiful -- the most beautiful I've ever seen. It has been a real privilage to visit this website! That Autumn gourd is so beautiful, I hope you will keep a picture of it on your website even after it has been sold. Thank you for the monarch butterflies on all the pages ... they fill me with precious memories. Please keep on following the Circle and this special vocation of yours, for the sake of all of us! God bless you!
